The Judge rifle
« on: December 23, 2010, 08:54:34 AM »
I saw this on a gun show last night, thought it was brand new but apparently it came out earlier in the year.  Called Rossi Circuit Judge.  I have way too many other guns I want first but wondered what your thoughts are.  I did a search here but didn't find anything for the rifle so i apologize if it's a repeat.

Since it's rifled I would expect that the patterns would be as bad out of this as they are out of the pistol. I think it's cool looking but can think of no practical use for it.

Just got my latest "American Rifleman" mag and there is an ad in it for that gun.  First time I've seen an ad.  Haven't seen a gun yet.  Gunmakers have a habit of announcing a new gun 6 or 8 months before one is actually shipped, so I don't expect to see one for a while.

If it was chambered in 454 Casull or 444Marlin.. Might be interesting.  :chuckle:

There was a dealer with one at the Spokane gun show two weekends ago.  I agree, cool toy but not sure how practical....  But hey, if you want it go for it!

Kinda looks like a TC Encore.  I like the concept.  If it were a lot cheaper, I'd get one for the "cool" factor.

See!--  One person's "worthless" is another person's "cool".  The concept isn't new.  During the Civil War, Colt made rifle versions of their cap-and-ball revolvers.  The one drawback was that percussion revolvers tended to "chain-fire" and when the rifles did, the hand that was on the forearm didn't come out of it so good.  :ACRY:

Intresting gun for sure.It will sell on the cool factor. I am sure there are a lot better choices out there. For what you might buy this gun for. Like a shotgun :chuckle:

I handled one at one of our local gunshops it was light and it seemed preety cool. They apprently make a .410 smoothbore version which I think would be a better choice. I've never got great patterns out of the .45lc/.410 guns. I belive its also drilled and tapped for a scope to

From the reviews it sounds like it's junk, too bad really. If it was accurate it would be a great gun for deer and black bear.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.
