« on: December 27, 2010, 05:54:48 PM »
i know for a lot of people (me being one of them) any Roosevelt bull is a trophy. but i'm bored and was interested in finding out how broad of a spectrum there is with people on this sight. Sooo here it goes Score wise what do you consider a big ROOSEVELT bull?

It really depends on where you are hunting...AND...the type of rack. SHoot, I have seen some incredibly massive and just huge Rosies that would only go 230-240... and some that would go 280+.... but then there are the freaks that go 350.... Yeah... they are BIG!!!

To me I think anything 280-300 would be a big Roosevelt. But the number doesnt matter, Im just happy hunting is still legal in this state. Any roosevelt is a trophy to me.  :P

My 4x4 was a trophy cause its the only bull I have taken.  I have seen some big racks where I hunt and a few monsters.  I would love to get one bigger than my fathers   :P

Most hunters would load their pants at a 250" west side bull... but a true trophy is in the eye of the beholder....
Its not the kill, its the chase that makes the hunt ... the kill last a few moments the chase lasts all year. :twocents:

I think that the B&C standard of 290 is big but for some reason, 300 just seems that much better. My dream is 320+, but that is beyond big, that is huge.

I wish I could help you more. Never carried a camera in the woods until just recently. Most my pictures are in storage :( I have some decent archery kills but no good pictures.

Decent bull. Scored 245, I think:

 This one was 306 1/8:

This is in the field across from my Mother's, where I grew up:

This was a friends, this year. He had never killed an elk so I guided him in on this one (black powder):

Nice looking bulls! I think a 250'' Roosevelt would surely be thought of as a big bull.
I felt like a one legged cat trying to bury a terd on a frozen pond!
