Bow grip????
« on: January 14, 2011, 08:40:42 PM »
I decided to remove the glued on rubber grip from my bow because I didn't like the way it sat in my hand.  It was recommended to me to try shooting with no grip, so I did, it is more comfortable and my groups got a little tighter.  My problem is that there is some glue residue on the riser that is pretty rough.  Is there a way to remove this without ruining the camo finish where the glue is?  Is there a thin wrap/grip tape that wont build up the thickness of the riser too much?
Looking for any and all advice you have.

Thanks  :brew:

Try Goo Gone or a similar adhesive remover.  Seems like that would work. :dunno:

I wrap all my grips in Hockey tape. It is pretty commonly used on grips by a lot of target archers.

Thanks.  I will try the hockey tape.  I am a little hesitant to use the goo gone for fear of it eating the finish, but will gie it a try anyway.
