Wind is always in my face. I wear a balacava facemask and my camo is good. I'm usually nestled into some sagebrush or in some cat tails so if i wasn't even wearing camo chances are I wouldn't be seen I'm still trying to refine my calling and considering purchasing a decoy to get the attention off of me.
This area has been heavily called for many years. These are highly educated coyotes that you are dealing with. Keep at it and don't get discouraged. 15 years ago you could get a coyote to answer a squeaky car door, now adays you are going to have to be more versatile with your calls. Get a couple different ones and stay away from the rabbit distress they are the most over used. If you have private farm ground try more domestic animal distress. Try and match the animals typically around the farm. Domestic house cat closer to town, Mesa has a few sheep herders you might try an ewe distress, eltopia has a lot of cattle try a calf distress around there.
