Sig or HK

Been looking at either a P226 or P239.  Also been looking at HK models.  I am not too concerned about ccw, I have a ruger revolver for that.  I am looking for a 9mm.  Any experience with these?  Thanks

SIG! i have owned both and now do not drink the HK coolaid. HK your are paying for the name more so than Sig. HK's are big fat heavy blocks great for pistol whipping people like they do in movies. Not a fan of the triggers nor the price of parts. Sig, ergonomics are better, if you get a SRT model the triggers are unreal. positive feeling reset very short reset, and smooth as glass. double action however is very long and very heavy. If you want to shoot out of the double action pull than HK, if more often than not single than SIG all the way. Many models of the P226 available. Go with a model with the srt trigger and beaver tail. have fun.

I'm own a P226 in .40 and it is by far my favorite handgun for it's reliability, accuracy and ergonomics. A friend has the 239 in 9mm and I wouldn't hesitate to buy one myself.

I own a couple Hk's and Sig's in different calibers and they really are both fantastic handgun manufactures. My USP 9mm is very nice but so is my P226, I think for me Sigs have a better feel but each person is different. I hear the newer Hk P30 variants are fantastic weapons but I've never tried one. You usually can find Sigs for a little cheaper if you're looking for a used weapon.

I love my P226!  I have only owned H&K rifles but loved every one of them.  I wish that I had never sold them!

If I can make a suggestion, I love my Sig P239 SAS 40cal its like the Mercedes Benz of the pistol world.

229's, both  from a retired LA cop. one adjustable sights the other fixed. over all impression was "what a piece of crap"

  Okay first off there is something to be said about to each his own and the gun fitting you and liking the feel. But the above comment is retarded. He obviously is not into firearms very deeply. They are completely different weapons. ones DA/SA and the other a striker fired gun. Also the difference in quality is tremendous Sig far surpasses glock. People get very passionate about there guns, this leads to stupid comments. glocks are not relevant to the type of pistol you're asking about nor is it in anyway a better pistol. I'm not a Sig guy but i can not help but praise the majority of their weapons. every manufacturer has its negatives, but i believe that most here would advise a Sig apposed to a H&K. As for glock guy go troll and spread your nonsense with your glockoholic's on their forum. we all know how much better they are than 1911's M&Ps and XDs Sig's or any other make and model

LOL! I can see and agree with most of that CementFinisher, I've never in my life heard a Sig described like that! I am guessing those 229's were DAK but still...

I suppose there is a higher likely hood of them being DAK in that they were from a law enforcement agency out of the gun hating bureaucratic state of California. But still. Oh hey bonfire DAk is a double action only system. That in turns gives you a long heavy trigger. If you would like me to explain to you why it leads to those hit me up

Have carried a 226 for 18 years at work. Never failed me after easily 10,000 rds.

The 239 which I carry as a back-up is fool-proof too. Once you practice a few rounds with the trigger no problem. I stake my life( literally) with both Sig firearms. Glocks are Ok but Sig's are much safer

I have a HK USP and also a fool-proof firearm

Cannot go wrong with either.

What are you looking for in a concealed carry?

Well I already have a ruger sp101 and a compact xd for carry so I don't necessarily need another carry gun.  So I'm not sure.  The 229 seems a little smaller than the 226 and bigger than 239, might look into that firearm.
