Blues/ Southwest Washington Spring Bears
« on: March 07, 2011, 11:44:52 AM »
Does anyone have any good information on a place to put in for the Blues Mountains spring bear hunt?  I love hunting bears and read somewhere a few years ago that they get a high number of color phase, boars and older age bears down there in the spring.  I hunted with a friend down there last fall for buck deer, turkey, and elk tags and loved the area.  Sounded to me like it would be a good place to put in for spring bear especially since I have heard mixed reviews on the westside hunts.

Do a search on here in this forum and you'll find plenty of info and plenty of results. It seems that the guys who spend a ton of time  down there and they kill bears but they do not seem easy to come by. Yes there are a lot of color bears.

never hunted spring bear there, but i know in pomeroy during deer season of 07 we saw about 13 bears in four days and then in 08 we saw 5 or 6 and in 09 we didnt see a single bear... dont know what changed, we hunted in the same area all three years.
maybe spring will be better though, good luck
