It's amazing to me that color patterns like that can be found in the natural environment...however, your ability to capture it so perfectly is even more amazing. Urbanites have no idea what they are missing...most of them couldn't appreciate it if they tried.

Bone, those pic's are perfect! I am just blown away by the late season plummage those birds have. Another beauty this time of year is a Drake Spoony. Would love to see some pic's from you on those. Great work. John

Thank you. I'm not sure if I've ever seen one. I keep looking for different critters but not seeing any others. I got some even more shots yesterday. Lots of woodies this year. I love it!

Love the depth of field control in that first image and the razor sharp focus to pop those colors!!! Nice work!!

Truly terrific pictures Bone, that is undoubtedly one of the prettiest "birds" of any sort.

You really do get some great wood duck shots. I like the one with the tadpole.

Thanks D-man, that has always been my favorite. I got into some frog action the other day. I had no idea they loved them so much. A mallard hen had nailed a frog, and two woodies chased her around trying to get it from her. She couldn't stop to eat because everytime she did they attacked. FUN to watch. I snapped a couple frames but the conditions weren't the best.
