Homemade E-Caller
« on: February 01, 2011, 01:44:22 PM »
Successfully completed a homemade e-caller today from parts I got at Radio shack and only two solders, two wires stripped and 50$! Sound quality isn't what you'd get out of a foxpro but at medium volume (Which is more than enough) the quality is decent. Trying it out on thursday. I'll post results then.

Any specs on it?  I've been looking into building one that can use MP3 and a much longer range than the ones commercially available.

is it a remote caller?

I've been wondering how I could rig up something to use my cell phone, its a droid so I could download whatever then send it out thru the headphone jack.

Just couldn't figure out how to send it remotely

No it's just a regular old ipod connected to mini amp, wired to a 50 watt powerhorn. All radio shack parts. Required two solders and one wire stripping

A very simple one is an old computer speaker, one of the early ones that have a built in amp and battery powerred.

Here's another way to make a caller with you mp3 player and it costs about the same and its a plug and go system.

You can make these remote by using a Azden or Nady remote sound system for a camcorder. Here's a early Preymaster made remote with an Azden system.
