Coyote urine with blood spot
« on: February 03, 2011, 01:02:03 PM »
I was out dog/bobcat hunting today and saw some fresh coyote pee with a spot of blood next to it. About the size of a pencil eraser. Is this a sign of a female being in or coming into heat ? Never had seen this before.

Campmeat.

Hemmoroids?
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

Being a Akc lab breeder I think this falls kinda into my area :chuckle:

Female dogs or yotes bleed when they are coming into heat. This is called spotting, this can last 5-10 days depending on the dog and breed. Then the stay in heat and breed for around a week. Then they are going out for about a week, they can still breed in the last week but not as well.

For most k9's there is 2 heats a year. I am not sure for yotes. If they have more during this time of year or not.

I would think so myself, but nobody is seeing any coyotes, at least during the day. I hear them at night. I don't know with coyotes if crazy weather might affect them being in or coming into heat. It's been 0.1 below to 23 degrees right now. I see some tracks but not many. Won't answer or come to any calls........I'm stumped so far.

Had a female giant schnauzer that bled a bit after being bred once.  The whole process does not look pleasant for canines getting stuck together and all that.

I believe yotes are once a year however if they miss then they may cycle a second time  :dunno:....some of the more primitive breeds are like that as are some of the giants and molossars ...my assumption would be a bitch in heat if I saw something like that  :dunno:
