Cabin Coyotes Bonfires and Bobcats!
« on: February 06, 2011, 02:45:28 PM »
Left Thursday evening after work to our cabin to live the weekend off the grid, do some work and shoot some predators. I dragged along my trusty Tikka .223 and my new to me Browning A-bolt .204 which I haven't had the chance to season yet. Had a great time at the cabin. Did some work on the interior and we were also able to burn up a big wood pile that was close to the cabin that needed taken care of before the summer. Had a great time. Shot at some yotes and was lucky enough to take another bobcat. I'm sold on the .204! That A-bolt is amazingly light and deadly. Put out some trail cameras before making the trip home today. Already can't wait to get back.

Any story on the cat, and the yote?  Also, what kind of scope is on that 204?

Nice cat. Did you happen to weigh him?

Now that sounds like a good weekend.. Nice kitty.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Thanks guys! Yeah it was a blast.  Shot the yote at about 150 yards. He actually had a really nice coat but the 32 grain vmax did waaaay more damage to his spine than I would have ever imagined so it ended up being raven food. The bob might be around 20 lbs or so. Smaller than the one I have mounted. I just tubed it out and will have it tanned. I'll hold out for a bigger one to do a rug with.
