Scarpa Charmoz

I gave the old high top USA made Danners a shot. Liked them, used them like I do all my gear. Hard but well maintained...in less than 4 years they are showing failings: Stitching coming undone, Goretex lining failing.
So I am heading back to wearing mountaineering boots. I have one set of plastic doubles, one set of Scarpa old school leather that are at least 10 years old and still great boots for steep snow & ice.

I am replacing the Danners with the Scarpa Charmoz. All synthetic, 3/4 shank, above the ankle high so I'll need gaitors when up-hunting as I hate crap in my boots. These boots are fairly light weight also about 1lb10oz per boot. The shank BTW is synthetic so no heat loss to metal.

Crampon ready for those of you that use them.
