Has anyone heard of using this? My cousin told me he read about it and says hes going to give it a try. Just curious.

I mixed up some awhile back. Can't say it worked any better on my Jeep windows than anything else. Then again I didn't use much alcohol.
I tried ammonia and bleach as a little kid...wont do that again.

Mike this was said to be the S*** for cleaning your muzzy, but I have never heard of it. I just dont think I could bring myself to try a homebrew on one of my muzzys.

Hmm?! Might wanna read up on that. I read somewhere back in Guns & Ammo I think, about ammoniated solvents doing harm to barrels, if mixed with...
Can't remember Hoppes?
I've used Coleman White Gas for years just because I always have some.

when I was shooting competition we used to clean with plain old rubbing alcohol a lot. It evaporates fast and leaves no moisture in the barrel. As long as you don't use to much. Plain cold water works too .Some have tried Hydrogen Peroxide as well but it will take the finish off .
I still carry a small bottle of it and cleaning patches in my shooting bag while hunting.

Old tooth brush, oil, squirt bottle of Coleman and my Bore Snake.
Think I'll give the plain alcohol a try next time I shoot a couple boxes.

I've used them (separately) to nuetralize the left overs from corrosive ammo/primers in surplus ammo. Seemed to work well, as I never had a problem with corrosion/rust in the bores of these old rifles.

I left it better than I found it...did you?
I hunt animals because veggies are too easy to stalk.

Hi,
The Windex works well to neutralize the corrosive salts that are by-products of the burnt propellant and caps. You still need to apply an oil to the bore though for long term storage.
