Choate stocks
« on: February 20, 2011, 04:12:25 PM »
Im looking at a new stock for my savage 110. Its currently wearing the factory wood one and Im trying to lighten the rifle up a little bit on a budget and switch to synthetic so I dont have to worry about swelling in the wet weather we normally have in the fall/winter. Anybody have any experience? Im not trying to spend too much and I found one at a pretty reasonable price. Ive kinda narrowed it down to this or a ramline but Im open to suggestions. After looking up the procedure for the savage stock replacement seems pretty easy. But its my first time to do something like this.  Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Both the choate and ramline are pretty heavy.  A factoey syn works pretty well if you hog out the barrel channel and don't attach a bypod.  Otherwise id look at bell and carlsen at midwayusa.com

After the first shot the rest are just noise.
