Speer Full Curl Bullets
« on: February 24, 2011, 05:53:49 PM »
Anyone have any first hand experience with these? I spoke with one of their customer service reps last week. Fully bonded core/jacket and very reasonably pricedk. Box of 100 under $40. Curious how they are for accuracy.

Aren't they the same thing as the federal fusion bullet?

The Federal Fusion bullet is built by eloctroplating a lead bullet with copper according to info I got from Federal. Similar to the way jewelry gets electroplated with silver or gold.

I'm told the Full Curl bullets are swaged. The jacket is the same thickness the full length. I did get that from them. Price is what is getting my attention. Cheaper than most non-bonded bullets. And if they're accurate, might be a good choice for paper targets and thin skinned game. They'd work on larger game also but I prefer the thicker jacketed bullets like Trophy Bonded Bear Claws and Swift Scirrocos. I've had great success with these two bullets.
Federal's new Trophy Bonded Tip bullet might be a great bullet if it's ever available to handloaders.
