Tenas Creek/ Boulder Lake near Darrington/Suiattle Drainage
« on: March 01, 2011, 08:33:53 AM »
Has anyone hunted off of Forest Rd 2660? I am looking for an area to start Bear hunting in, and I have heard there are good bear opportunities in the Suiattle Drainage. Also does boulder lake hold fish and are there deer in this area as well? I am looking for general advice, this will be my first bear hunt and this road looks like it could give easy access to the creek and Boulder lake.

Thanks

SM

Do you know if that road is even open for driving? I know it used to be closed

I believe it is open up about 5.3 miles up.

There are fish in boulder.   I am not sure how far you can get in but the road has been closed.   Its been a while since I have been up there.

If it is closed, get out and walk. There are bears out there.

Just be aware the Suiattle is a favorite place for the Seattle hikers to play at. There are some good areas around Darrington. Would try to stay away from the main trailheads as that is were the population likes to go.
