Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40
« on: March 04, 2011, 06:56:14 AM »
Found this scope for $100 on Camofire...is it worth buying or should I hold out for something else? It will be mounted on a .30-06 and used both east and west sides of the state. Any thoughts on this scope?

Is it new?  It would be a fine scope for a .30-06 and $100 is a good price

Excellent scope.  Well worth the $100   I have one on a .308 that has seen tons of wet side use and it has never failed.  Pull the trigger.

Cabelas has the same scope in their .com bargain cave for the same price.  Pretty good scope for that price.

I've got one on a .06 and have had no problems with it, hunting the last 3 years.

I have one on my 223, it has seen lots of action and been used in some tough environments. Best scope in that price range for sure and in my opinion as good as a Leupold VX II.
You don't need a flatter shooting rifle or a larger caliber. What you need is good field marksmanship. Jeff Cooper.
