I think Turkeyman had the right answer regarding who gets the most credit.  NWTF does get the most publicity and credit for the restoration of the wild turkey, but it really has been the effort of countless volunteers, agencies and the sportsmen across the country who had a vision and a goal and made it a reality.

If a hen looses her clutch will she start laying a second clutch? If one poult makes it out of the clutch will she start laying again?

Answer:  Well I haven't gotten any the the questions right so far, so I might as well take a wild swing at this one:

A hen will start a second clutch depending on when she loses her clutch.  I would guess that even if one poult survives, she will not start laying again.

I have had one radioed hen who successfully hatched a clutch, lost them in the first week after hatching, and did renest and hatch a second clutch.  Very rare though, typically they won't renest if they hatch out, even if they lose them very quickly.

Over the last fifty years, what type of turkey call has resulted in the most toms being harvested?

Not sure if there is hard data on this question, but I had Friction Calls in mind when I put this one out there.  Both box calls and slate calls have been mainstay calls for years in Southern Turkey hunting.

In simple terms, the NWTF has no authority to release birds in any state.  That is a function of individual Fish and Wildlife agencies.  So in simple terms, NWTF did not restore turkeys as they would have everyone believe.  They were a part....but not the part that drove the effort.  They just have a unique way of taking credit.  NWTF volunteers are great people, and give without hesitation.  They are the real NWTF.  The parent organization is nothing but a giant leech sucking the dollars raised here and sending it out of state, back to S.C.  To market themselves they return a pittance with their approval of projects that look good on paper. 

Most of the large projects like trap and transfer and habitat work was done by WDFW in the 80's and 90's with local chapter members assisting in the latter years.  Remember the chapter system didn't even begin to form until the early 90's.  What created the chapters was WDFW turkey releases....fact....not the NWTF in Edgefield, S.C.  The National did provided transport boxes...that Weyerhauser donated..........yipee, big outlay huh...lol..

Many conservation groups have evolved into something different than they began as.....it's now all about the money, nothing more.  As an example just look what the previous top three at NWTF drew in salary let alone expenses.  That should tell you something.  They are gone now, but nothing much has changed.

Again....I have the utmost respect for the Washingtonians who are members and worked side by side in many cases assisting efforts.  The National is nothing more than a bunch of used car salesmen as far as I'm concerned.....they do nothing but use people to fill the coffers in Edgefield.

Sounds like you have some good telemetry data to make insights from!  Some of these 2nd clutches can be quite successful.  I watched two local hens last year lose clutches of 1 chick, and 4 chicks respectively.  They both re-nested and came off with successful 2nd clutches in mid June.  One clutch had 4 chicks and the other had 6 chicks.  All those birds survived and are still alive (2 jakes and 8 young hens).
