fallow deer sheds
« on: March 13, 2011, 11:47:06 AM »
Took the kids to olympic game farm in sequim yesterday.  I went in the gift shop looking around and I didn't see any sheds so I asked the lady what they did with there sheds.  She said they sold them by the pair. So I asked how much and she said 40 bucks.  I am not one to pay for horns but they are pretty cool and not something you would be able to go out and find.  They are pretty decent size and for 40 bucks I couldn't go wrong.  Sorry I don't have pics I dropped them off with a buddy to do a little scull cap mount.  When I get them back I will post a pic.
Happiness is being in the woods!!!

They are a cool antler, I saw a herd a couple of mornings in a row on one of the Canadian islands. Pretty skidish deer & took off quick. Would be a very nice shoulder mount if you ever took one. Mike

I'm assuming your talking about Spieden Island which is just North of San Juan Island close to the Canadian Island. It has Various free ranging exotics running around but I think its a no no to step foot on their to check out but I've boated around it & its easy to get pics.

I took the ferry to Vancouver island & Kayaked over to Sidney Spit. We camped at a camp ground & lots of houses / outdoor activity. The herd was in the meadow by our campground each morning when I went for a walk. Pretty cool. Mike

Weird you inserted my quote 50caljim but my quote changed to " Canadian boarders " instead of Canadian islands. No big deal, just thought it was funny. Mike

Thats funny because I tried about 5 times to edit" Canadian Island to Canadian boarder" on my quote. :dunno: Eventually I said screw it & let it be.
