Very flat with lots of water.
Hound hunters & baiters.

You can only pay for and pick up your pass in person on a weekday. There are some bears in there.

Good luck.

I was wondering the same thing. Not trying to be a jerk or anything but did you do any research BEFORE you put in for it? You've never been there, don't know where it's at, and didn't realize the pass situation yet you put in for it anyway?

I really feel like jumping the the "why" bandwagon, but won't this time.

The unit is on the coast north of Aberdeen and that is where you have to go to get your access pass. It is about an hour and a half out of Oly so you could be looking at a 3 hour drive in good traffic. You will need a bunch of info. Drivers license, insurance, permit, hunting license, etc. so call and ask what you need before you head down.

All I can say is make the most of your scouting time with the distance you'll be travelling.  The west side spring bear hunts are far from a guarantee, so you'll need to scout it hard, and even then it'll take a bit of luck.  Hopefully you've got some trail cameras so you can in a way get some scouting done while you're not there.

Good luck!

I hunted there three years ago, and then hunted it the last two years with a friend.  We had great experiences, but never saw a single bear.  Hopefully you'll have better luck with the bears than we did.

I thought the drive was alot farther then what it actually is, thinking I might be able to go hunt it atleast once a week if not twice a week a couple of times,
