« on: April 02, 2011, 08:00:49 PM »
I canceled on the elk trip tom and instead Ol quackwacker and I are gunna test out his new toy and the coulee tomorrow. I need a little help on what to use for these early walleye. I think worm harneses are double whamys wont quite work yet.

Any advice on depth and gear

Thats actually exactly what i would use.  I would use something with a smiley blade since you can troll slower with those. and just creep along till you find a school of em.  Then if you wanted you could throw blades, or jigs tipped with worm once you find a big school.  I have also done fairly well pulling cranks this time of year up there. Usually get a nice one that way. Depends on water temp, wind, and where the fish are at in there.  And i would do a little searching using the finder first.  but usually 10 feet to 30 feet is where im at in there.

jigs work too, go as far up the channel and drift it back down the main body of water, it works.
be sure to break the worm for scent
