Springfield xd(m)
« on: April 07, 2011, 03:34:29 PM »
Been looking pistols for a couple weeks now and finally "pulled the trigger" on one today.  I bought the 4.5" .40S&W xdm and can't wait to pick it up.  I know a lot of guys on this site have the Springfields so I was just curious what everyone was using for ammo.  (for everyday shooting and/or in the field)

I've got mine in .45 acp. I use Winchester 230gr Talons for carry ammo. It will shoot just about anything I've put thru it.

I was gonna say the samething. I have the 45 XD also. I use Hornady Tap ammo for carry and crappy old round ball for shooting.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I have a 9mm XD(m), it seems to like the Remington Express 115gr +p for accuracy but it will eat anything you feed it at the range.
The reason there are so many Ruger upgrades is because they're necessary.

Winchester! Shoot the normal Rd's, hollow point or fmj for practice. Then Carry 180 pdx in the gun. I have done tons of bullet tests! These bullets are fantastic and I trust my life to them ever day.

I bought 400 rounds of pmc when it was on sale, never a problem.  WWW is cheap and shoots just fine as well.  Haven't found the xd to be picky, neither have my friends.  Congrats!

My XD(M) seems to like whatever the cheapest ammo was that day.  9mm.

Don't have an XDm, but I have XD's in .40 and .45.  They eat anything I've fed them so far.  For 9mm I have an FN, FNX9, and really like that gun a lot.  For carry, I'm partial to the Hornady Critical Defense ammo.  For practice, handloads.
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I shoot 165gr winchester with mine.
100 rnd box at wallyworld, 47$.
I'm lookin at gettin my trigger redone.
Try the different size grips that come with it. I'm still decidin which one I like.
It's not true that I am good for nothing---I can be used as a bad example!!

Which trigger are you thinking about?

I have been toying with the idea to get the Powder River Percision Match grade trigger kit,

I just have not pulled the trigger so to speak, lol.
