Got my Monroe tag today but no info on gate keys,I wonder if they are going to do away with these this year? Wardens told me back in nov that the Monroe area was preaty beat up with people leaving the gates open durning the wood cutting season and every body and there brother coming up for the taking. They also said they heard that the dnr might shut it down totaly to vehical traffic.Man I hope not, I guess we will see.

I would call dnr office on Monday to find out about keys .

I received my permit for N. Skagit today and made it over Sedro DNR before they closed. They also had packets for Monroe Unit.  $100.00 deposit for a key and several papers to sign. They did stress if you violated the terms you would loose the deposit and give the key up.
The key agreement must be with you when behind gates and must be shown on demand.
