Canvas Wall Tent?

Anyone know where you can get a canvas wall tent that doesn't cost $800-$1,300. We brought the new 5th wheel last year and I hated having to be that clean. I'd rather have a elk camp with the canvas tent.

Keep your eyes open on this and other hunting websites.  Craigslist is also another good place.  Assuming yopu are not needing one right away, you should be able to find a great deal on a used tent this way.

Craigslist has had a few really good deals on wall tents lately. I have two already and am looking for another 10x12. The thing about craigslist is the good deals go really fast so you have to check the site on a regular basis and be prepared to jump on the deal when you see it.Buddy of mine picked up a 12x 16 for 650$ with a rain fly,internal frame, and a stove.Keep an eye on craigslist.

we use a 12x20 costco car port. only cost $200 and stays at our camp spot for the last 5 years. no canvas to rot, no haul out, and keeps you dry. It is kind of noisey when it rains.

I bought a 16'X20' canvas wall tent with a frame from the White Elephant in the Spokane Valley last summer for about $800.
Took it to Montana last November and camped for a week in weather that went as low as -20 with the windchill.  Lots of room (16x20 was bigger than I thought it would be), and the little barrel stove kept us plenty warm.  The only downside was that when the wind was howling it was a bit drafty, and you had to keep getting up during the night and stoking the fire because those small barrel stoves won't hold enough wood to last a full night.

Bought mine through DAVIS TENT. I got the KINGS PACKAGE DEAL, 14X16 tent, stove, cots..  Great thing about going through Davis is you can customize your tent to your needs?  whole floor, 3/4 floor, where you want your windows if any, screen or no screen,  call them and talk to the owner great people. I talked with them like five times before I purchased my tent...  I could not be happier with their product......


I will also add that the , getting up in the middle of the night is the worst thing about the stove.. I am going to make mine bigger... but keeps the tent around 65-70 no matter what the temp outside is....

I bought a 16x23 with 6' walls last year and can't believe I waited so long in my hunting life to buy a wall tent.  What an awsome way to hunt, there is nothing like the heat from you wood stove after a long day on the mountains.  And if your clothes get wet, the stove has them dried out by morning.  I have a big stove and I would recommend spending a little extra for a better stove, the good ones you don't have to get up in the middle of the night to stock it up and you know that's priceless.  One more opinon I have is get one a little bigger than you think you need, the room fills up quickly.

No, I got the middle sized stove. It does a great job keeping the tent nice and cozy. But I would get the bigger one. Mine needs to be stoked about every three hours. I personally think it sucks to much air with the design, even when it is choked down all the way. I am gonna rebuild the door to the stove and make it more air tight.  It should improve the stove a heck of a lot.. If i were you I would buy the bigger stove..

we also found the hot water tank on the side was a big plus, it came in real handy.......

I am also going to second what was said about drying your clothes by the stove.  Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more efficient than trying to dry them with electric or propane heat in a camper.

I have the kwik kamp 14x16. love it

With the stoves.  Measure your stove depth. cut the wook 2inches shy of full depth.  Your burn time will last alot longer.  I learned this when over in montana once on a elk hunt.

Im also considering a stove from a  house,  big and heavy,  you know.  a stand up one.  Im looking on craigslist for one.  I know someone that put one of those in theres.  It might be overkill on size but they would no joke have a 12hrs burn time. 

but anyway,  yes that trick of your logs cut to lenght of stove works great.

I have a Blaze King in my house.  The big one.  LOVE it.  Don't know if you'll find a used one because I never see anyone getting "rid" of one.  We bought ours new, spendy, but I don't regret the purchase.  Remember when you install it that a good deal of the heat comes from the pipe as well.

I think Davis tent has a 10x12 for under $500 if you just want the canvas..... But you'd still need angle kit, poles, steaks, stove, and all the works...... If you don't have most of that you will be spending $1000 or maybe a little more for all the extras.... I got a 10x12 canvas, angle kit, steaks with ropes, and stove for $901 from Davis Tent..... I bought the poles myself and cut them for under $60... Already had all the camp supplies and cots....
