That list  you what you can't shot with the except   The first part list what you can the season and limit.

I understand that. But if you go to page 77 of this years regs it says they are protected and you can't hunt them.

When I lived in WY I shot a ton of praire dogs.  We had a few towns on our property and they always had one that was on watch.  I would shoot him, and they would scamper under ground and come up a few minutes later with a new watch :IBCOOL:.  After a few weeks of doing this I either killed them all, or they moved :tup:

Its pretty common over here to  see people shooting them this time of year.  I dont think anyone gives much thought to it.  These are not the striped ones, but google shows every darn dirt diggin machine as a Washington ground squirrel.

I guess I'll seek some clarification when the opportunity arises....

I think the real question here is why on earth would you waste ammo on a squirrel. :dunno:

Because squirrels are DELICIOUS!!! Well not sure about the ground squirrels but the tree squirrels are awesome.
