A little bear hunting
« on: May 02, 2011, 08:15:21 PM »
Went down to Orofino, ID on Sunday to try and rig a bear.  We hunted down by the Dworshak Res.  Got stuck a little in the snow, saw a bunch of turkeys and a few deer, but no bear.  Still had a fun day.  On the drive back from Orofino to Lewiston, I had a deer run off the river and right into the side of my truck at 60 miles an hour.  Just missed the passenger door and ran head first into the side.  Nice little dent, grrrrr

Great photos! Dworshak reminds me of Shasta Lake and the tournaments I used to fish down there. Heard Dworshak has some pretty killer smallmouth fishing!

Any luck with the bears?

Nope no luck with the bears, couldn't get low enough.  We couldn't get down much lower than 2500.  We were just getting into grass and we ran into snow in a couple of protected pockets.

Yes this truck is NOT my first choice, but I sold my ranger this weekend and haven't gotten a new small truck yet.  :)

Cool day!  Except for the deer collision!  I hit one on the same stretch at 60.  $7000 later my truck was good as new.  At least it didn't kill the truck.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!
