7mm-08 is a 308 Winchester cartridge that is necked down to a 7mm caliber. The ammo price is comparable with a 308 win. or a 243 however there variables with that, which store you buy from, the bullet weight you choose and which ammo manufacturer.
I have a 7MM-08 and I can promis you that the ammo is much more expensive for the 7MM-08 than for the 243. I also own a 243WSSM, and ammo for that caliber is getting out of sight as well. Get a 243 and kill anything you want to.
