Finally.... A sighting!!
«

Heres what I saw this weekend.
In the road grazing when I first saw it.
it snuck down below the road and I was able to close the distance to take a look.
I sat and watched for quite a while totally undetected.
Oops mama calls........... Dinner time. I'll post more later.

What's that above the bear's back in the 3rd picture? It's not there in the 2nd shot.

Fine! For goodness sake!
I took off from work friday and took a non hunting buddy of mine up to partake in a little spring bear action. Anyways I ran in Decker who also has a Huckleberry tag and we went out calling. We got into my spot and probably called for about 30-40 minutes and way across the canyon I spot a GIANT!!! The sun was beaming off of this bear and it was just shining like nothing I've ever seen. Now we're about 1000+ yards away glassing this thing and I mean I'm freaking stoked. Now, we had to run/hurry/fast walk a mile to get around to this bear and it was still there.
I have a dilemma I cant see this bear well enough to get a good look because its facing me in the logging road so I'm pretty much stuck. I finally was able to get a good look and it just wasn't very big after all. It sure looked big in the sunlight but it was maybe 4 1/2 feet from nose to tail. Great coat and color but I want a bigger bear or a color phase. I've never done this before but I let it walk. Decker was not happy. LOL.
He's got footage and pics maybe he'll post them. I would think we were 70 yards away or so. It was an awesome stalk.
Oh did I mention that was friday night. These pics were taken Saturday morning.
I will tell the rest of the story of Saturday's bear later.

Cool pics gutpile, hopefully you got to close the deal. My bro got to see one yesterday chase 6 deer along a hill side, playing tackle football...but the bear was never able to close the deal on the tackle.
