I usually am in good shape. But this year i have put on about 10 lbs. I cant find the energy to get motivated after 11 hours of work a day then the rest of the hustle and bustle. What do you take for energy or to get motivated????

Im in the same boat, hard to get motivated. Any spair time I could be out hiking is usually spent doing the "Right thing" and working in the taxidermy shop. Im only up 5 pounds but man my legs are week. Went for a 6 mile bonzai hike the other day and was feeling it pretty good. I better start hiking with some weight.

been lifting for 4 months, and the last few have been doing more cardio. i'm plenty good to run the hills all day with a light pack, but where i have a hard time is muscleing out a quarter elk. thats my goal for this year, im pretty skinny and need that lower strength

awesome video bowsandhose, i can get an idea of what thats like. atleast with the meat pack it doesnt shift on your back, but the head and horns are a real bitch to pack cross country.... espescially when they're that big lol

i take a sublingual B-12 vitamin for energy. as for motivation that's a tough one to keep up if i eat like crap, or drink to much, or have rough day at work and so on i lose motovation, but if you can fight through it and you start losing weight and looking better feeling stronger then its easy to get motivated

i tried every way possible to get the rack on the pack and secure but that was the only way it was not dragging on the ground or stabbing me lol but a shifting load was a pain in the arse

Hell to the No!  I am out for awhile with a torn meniscus in the left knee  :bash:  Go in on Monday to schedule for surgery to repair my knee. Been on a diet for about 2 months and lost 15 lbs. Now I need to watch it closer since I'll be on my arse for about another 2- 4 weeks to recover. Once I can get my legs under me I'll be doing what I can to gain the strength back in my legs and start running for that all elusive Cardio that fails me when I need it during the pack out!

Its better if you stay in shape and maintain than it is to get back into shape

getting closer. im on my last week of p90x and for the past 2 weeks ive been running 2.5 miles every other night on top of the p90x workouts. gone up hiking around a couple times this year, first time did about 8 miles, yesterday i put on closer to 15 miles. not a ton of elevation change but a few hundred feet up and down a couple times.

the weird thing is after hiking for most of the day my right hip has started acting up and snapping and popping a ton. and it will be sore for a couple days after. any idea what this could be? im hoping its just not used to being used that much and will go away after a few more trips.
