Observatory Archery Elk
« on: June 14, 2011, 07:15:41 PM »
2 out of 6 got selected for any Elk sept 6-18   The work just begins....I've heard the elk peak rut is suppose to be later in the calander than the past 5-8 years???? I don't know how true this is but hope the elk are talking come season.  I know there's nice bulls in the area...we've seen them year after year.  Many times they only talk at night >:(

Looking forward to the trip!

If it makes you feel good (or not) one had 3 points and I had 6 points.  Why?????  I cam across a hunter a few years ago that drew this tag back-to-back.  It's painful to have big elk screaming their head off all around you and come tag time they totally shutdown.  I'm hoping this doesn't happen to me or you....

I also drew the tag, haven't heard if any of my partners drew yet. i haven't been there for several years. There has been some talk here that some of the main roads were washed out. Any Truth?

That doesn't sound good for the roads in the area. Thanks for the link.

I drew the rifle tag last yr. It all depends on the snow. We didn't get any snow & it eat 60 degrees and sunny. The yr before they had lots if snow & bulls were everywhere. It's a migratory hunt there are a few resident bulls but pray for snow!!
