Thanks all.
I had 11 bonus points going into this years draw and drew my second choice. As I stated earlier it's not know as a trophy unit or one that's easy to hunt but my odds of drawing were much better. Plus, a trophy is in the eye of the beholder and it should be a great time ending in me completing the GSlam. Any sheep tag is a great tag!
Some of my sheep I killed before the digital area so I'll take some of my mounts and post them here. You can find some pics of my last Dall hunt in an earlier thread. That was a really really neat adventure ending in me killing my best (scoring) Dall.
Is there any other grand slammers here other than Ram Slam?

Congrats on the tag! I kind of chuckle when you say you suppose you have been lucky when you said you drew 3 bighorn tags before this tag because if you got them through draws you have been extremely lucky. (Unless somehow they pick your name due to your conservation efforts) That was a joke conspiracy theory guys. As someone who has put in for draw tags in most western states and most every lottery drawing that comes across my desk the past 10-15 years I would state that the odds of you drawing all the tags you have are astronomical. I know I will probably never draw a sheep tag but I will continue to try. I agree with the good karma for conservation efforts and I hope that you have a great hunt and kill the best ram you find.

Just drove through Nevada and had sheep on my mind. AWESOME you drew a hunt. Good luck! Its even more exciting when someone who absolutely follows an animal draws.

Ok, I'm going to try to post some pics. First is a fannin/stone rame I killed in 2005 with Blackstone Otfitters in the Yukon. I did want to hunt spacifically for a fannin as I had plans to hunt a true stone that fell through but was still on the backburner and this ram brought me to the 3/4 slam mark.

This next ram is my best (score wise) dall I killed with Todd Walton and his Alaska Big Game Safaris in 2009. I won this hunt through the WAWSF (formerly WAFNAWS)members only raffle. Great time, great people, great ram!

My stone sheep is next. I was able to hunt in 2007 with Wes Berg. Finally after 8 days of backpacking in BC we spotted this 39 inch beauty and I was able to kill him the next morning from 90 yards. What an adventure!

Some outstanding sheep!
Are you hunting with a outfitter with the tag you drew?

I'll post my 2008 dall as I found him. I hunted with Blackstone in the Yukon again on a moose rut hunt but I just had to shoot a sheep before I could go chase those big stinky things around. The rest of the hunters in camp thought I was crazy as I was the only and last person to hunt for sheep that year.
I had a great time listening to all the stories Paul, my guide had as I was his 107th or 109th sheep hunter.
We were able to find a nice 57 inch moose in the day and half we had left in my ten day hunt. Gotta love that luck!
I'll let Paul be in the picture of my 12 year old broomer ram.

I'll be going at it with just family and friends. No outfitter. I don't think there is anything wrong what so ever in using an outfitter but for me a big part of the hunt is the scouting, searching, calling and figuring out the unit and best way to hunt it. Some of my best friends are some of the sheep guides that I have hunted with in the past but if it's legal to do it on my own, that's what I'd prefer.

Yep, understand. Up north it's matter of being legal. Down here it's fun to DIY.

You've been very fortunate to take some truly fantastic animals. My friend Ed Lande was on the same hunt with you both took your Dalls in 2009. He spoke very highly of you. Congrats on your new sheep tag. I'm looking forward to hearing about your Nevada hunt.
