Redemption.
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:52:33 AM »

Did a bit of 'yote hunting me-self yesterday, and DID see about 8 dogs, but the wind was so bad, they just couldn't, or either wouldn't  come to call, so on the way out, we stopped at a rock outcropping where we had seen marmot droppings from hunting this past winter, and sure enough, there were some marmots sitting on top of the ledge yesterday! AWESOME.

Wind was blowing hard, with gusts over 20 mph! WHAT A CHALLENGE!

Missed the first shot by a foot to the left, and about six inches low. A good spotter makes all the difference!
I comp.'ted the range and wind, sent another 52 Sierra Match King, and heard my partner say "WOW". I chuckled, and said "Red Mist?", he said "NO", "CHUNKS"....

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes.  That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Forgot to mention, it was 234 yards to the first group of chucks....but after the first hit, they ALL disappeared.

That's the way it goes I guess, was fun though!

I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

My thoughts EXACTLY. I'm always saying folks need to get out and shoot in the wind. Its the only way to learn wind-reading. But it takes a good spotter!
