a few days ago my buddys and i were shooting 22s on another friends farm when we got talking to the land owner... he asked us if we hunted, and out of the group of 5 i raised my hand, we got to talking, and i basically was granted access to the wooded area of thier farm to hunt in the fall.

being a small area (In comparison to glass-n-stalking clear cuts), ive realized i will need to employ different tactics than ive previously used... i havent been able to go the area fully yet, but that will happen shortly... but due to the area, terain, and the limited size of the property line (heavy woods boarder 3 sides of thier property) im going to hunt it from a blind...

i know im going to need to put out trail cameras...

first question.... tree stand or ground blind?

how do i go about prepping the area for the season? do i plant seeds/develop a small food plot or put out salt licks?

how do i make this small chunk of land productive?
catch it. kill it. cook it. eat it.
Forget the bear spray, use wasp killer. Concentrated delivery stream, 10X the product, and only $3.00 on sale.

I smoke two fish in the morning, I smoke two fish at night, I smoke two fish in de afternoon makes me feel alright

I would talk with the land owner about his neighbors and then inform them that you have permission to hunt his property and maybe you can gain access to surounding property. If so, this could expand you hunt area.

Find out from the land owner as much as you can about the place and where he knows deer travel to and from his property, this could save you some time.

Is this property on Fidalgo island?
Is their any evidence that deer use this property (trails, poop...)

Trail cam(s) would be where I start. If their are houses relatively close, it might be worth contacting the neighbors just so they are not questioning all the flashes at night, as well as getting access to their land like gasman stated.
