WDFW needs to get on top of these wolf sightings,

Other agencies are also very involved.  I personally know a high ranking USFS Biologist in the eastern Cascades.  His department, himself and his underlings have been very involved with the Teanaway and Pasayten packs

At 1:35 this afternoon 5 wolves trotted the length of the big field across the river from Carlton, They were moving in a line 100 yards long, they had a plan and were going some place. Didn't have time to set the scope up but watched in the bino's. They were in sight less than 5 minutes.

I assume this is the Lookout Pack?
Which GMU is that where you saw these wolves?

WDFW needs to get on top of these wolf sightings, how will they ever confirm Washington's wolf packs with only 1 trapper. We've already got wolves all over the state and they cannot seem to keep up with the first pack confirmed in the state. :twocents:

If this is in Washington, Dale, it's out of Brewster going up to Twisp.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

This is in GMU 242 ALTA.    Methow Valley.   They have been reported.   They are in the Lookout Pack territory, these 5 wolves are different color than the supposedly remaining 2-3 Lookout Pack we watched last winter and spring.  At the very same time I was watching these, wolves were heard howling 8 miles north of here.

Got a call from my cousin this morning at 7:53 am. He had just stopped at Watt canyon to glass with his new spotting scope he got for xmas. He saw two wolves there. He first thought those are big coyotes, and after he put the binos down and put his new spotting scope to use.  He realized he was looking at two wolves. He said there was no doubt that what he and his girlfriend seen were not coyotes.

December 2010 my buddy watched 4 wolves take down a whitetail doe, eat one hind quarter and leave it to rot on the banks of the San Poil River a mile and 1/2 North of McMann Creek in Republic.
February 2008, Buddy spotted 3 wolves on bluff over McMann Creek.
October 2008, Buddy spotted 4 wolves killing a whitetail buck near Camel Back Mt.  Near Republic.
December 2009 I found 4 sets of fresh wolf tracks in the snow near Quartz Mt.
November 2000, my buddy and I spotted 2 wolves on Snow peak chasing a mule deer doe.

I keep hearing that folks around Goldendale are seeing them in the simcoes. And a few people have seen them a couple miles out of town. I don't have any photos but I was wondering if any one has seen or heard anyone else sighting any this far south?

On 11-5-11, my brother, dad, and I saw one lone wolf track that appeared to be hunting the deer herd that we were hunting. We were in the Steptoe Unit north of Colfax. The wolf tracks were between 4.5-5". The wolf tracks were in the frozen mud travelling both east and west in about a 400 yard line on the winter wheat/timber edge. In several spots, the wolf had taken off running out into the winter wheat, presumably chasing deer. There were no human tracks around, so can't believe it was a house dog. I have tried to walk down cougars in the snow for several years now, and know without a doubt they were not cougar tracks. These had large nails and were not rounded like a cat. Had we not been making a play on two really good bucks and one mediocre bucks, I may have remembered to take pictures.

Have there been any other sightings in the Steptoe or surrounding units? Sure is pretty open country for a wolf, I thought...though I don't really know much about wolf habitat.
