hunter with disabilities
« on: July 05, 2011, 12:23:03 AM »
My grandfather who is 65 years old and who is disabled didnt draw a permit for anything, he served 20 years in the military and now just lives to fish. He really wants to deer hunt and if anyone knows of some property that he could hunt that would be awesome.  If i have to pay some money so be it but thanks for reading and have a nice day

He shoud be able to harvest a doe in some areas of WA. Thats if he just want to get out and hunt. If you want to get him on something bigger. I'd look into getting a guild/outfitter.

What weapon method?  What level of disability?
Both the Skok and Satsop hold great deer numbers.  The patience of an older hunter and some time glassing cuts can pay off in these GMU's.  Added bonus is quality time with him?

Yeah most definantly he has that orange sticker and he can walk a few hundred yards on flat land tops.  I was hoping to get him a antlerless tag but that didnt happen but we will be out there looking for a buck for him.  its so funny because he is excited. like i get, its great

Bring him to the Eastside. Plenty of doe in the area. Good luck to you & your grampa. Maybe someone on here can help, put him on one.

In many areas of eastern Washington there are certain days during buck season that youth, seniors, and disabled can take a doe using the statewide deer tag.

You could hunt bucks and he can hunt any deer.

lol Thanks for the info.  I am a bowhunter and he taught me all this stuff but he cannot do it anymore so he just decided to get a rifle and go out for some meat.  I will be taking him and spotting, driving, paying, and hoping to pack out his deer  :chuckle:  in other words im paying him back for everything he has done and i can do all of these things every day for the rest of my life and i would still owe my gramps.  He's a great man and i owe him alot

Where does your Dad live near?
Stan Marsh: "My Uncle Jimbo says we gotta get up there early. Right Uncle Jimbo?"

Jimbo: "That's right, Stanley. Animals are much easier to shoot in the morning."
