Horse packers around Naches area
« on: July 21, 2011, 09:31:53 PM »
I am trying to make the most of the branch bull rife tag I have for Peaches unit and am thinking of hiking into areas of the Wilderness and was wondering if anyone knows names and numbers of any local meat packers in that area of Naches?  I know we are capable of packing but with two tags and the possibility of downing two bulls we want some backup plans if needed.  How is cell phone reception in that area on the ridge tops?  Thanks for any information that can be provided.

you should get cell coverage up around ravens roost.

Can't help with the packers numbers....
I kill elk and eat elk, when I'm not, I'm thinking about killing elk and eating elk.

It doesn't matter what you think...

Start with Paul wilson,,,  Chinook Pass Outfitters.  If it is not his area he can direct you to the person with the Outfitter Permit.  Pauls phone is 509-653-2633.  Tell him Dave from the Blue Mtns. sent you.

AT&T coverage has been traditionally horrible.  Verizon gets great coverage.

 :yeah:
Your best bet.

As for cell coverage. Some areas you get it, some you dont  :dunno:
Some days you can get coverage at Ravens Roost, some days you don't  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Ravens roust is hit and miss for reception depending on the weather. So ya may have to drive to whistelin jacks, had a guy at the neighboring camp used to call his wife everynight up there n it was hit and miss for him since the weather was crappy
