It looks to me like it would work. There used to be a treestand, I think it was called the Anderson tree sling that was a similar design, a harness system you hooked up to the tree. I would say even just testing it out like that you really should wear a harness or safety belt. You slip out of the backwards, even at that height and your going to be hurt pretty bad. Treestand falls are nothing to mess with. Great little video and nice job using something for more than one purpose.
