7 Weeks until Archery Elk - In shape yet?
« on: July 27, 2011, 11:31:12 AM »
I've lost 30 lbs since June 1st, on my way to 40 for 09/08/11. Bicycle 10 miles everyday, 2.5 miles of treadmill at 10% incline, and weights or core exercises. My scouting weekends have been awesome - all the strength I need and going steep and deep. Now that I'm done blowing my horn, how about you? Let's hear what your routine is and how you feel about hittin' the hills.

That is great to hear you lost that much.  I need to loose about 25 and just have not been motivated.  I was going hunting every weekend and was staying in pretty good condition but took the summer off to save money.  Now I really need to do something.

yea finding motivation was the hardest part for me  :chuckle:   that cameron hanes video did it for me, and the lifelong goal to beat my dad in arm wrestling before 15, 3 months to go  :yike:

Kain, you're a rockstar. I've been reading your posts and have learned a lot from you and others like Machias and Killbilly. Go get it. The meat is the motivation! Work out with me if you want at 24 hour down by 4th Pl and 130th.

I've definitely been working on it. I don't know if I've lost much weight but I'm definitely getting into better shape. I was play raquetball for 2 hours twice a week and rucking on Saturday. Now I'm biking 10-15 miles 2-3 times a week, hitting the weights once or twice a week and packing in for scouting trips every Saturday morning for about 6 hours. I'm feeling way better. Going on a 10-12 mile hike/ climb this weekend to scout in the high country. Were backpacking in this year so my partner and I are trying to get in the best shape possible. Next week is August so we're stepping it up A notch then.

I have lost 10 of the 20 I wanted.  Running, strength training, along with abs and lower back where I need it the most.  I did too many lunges the other day and was walking around like I had a load in my pants for three days.

Good on ya, mate. We're going to get the most out of it this year.

After two years and two ankle surgery's I'm finally back playing soccer which helps me get back in shape (of course that's what caused my surgery's in the first place). Also started lifting so I can hoist those quarters and pack them to a road where I can put them on the game cart for the walk out :)
I'm just a little exited

I've lost 30 lbs since June 1st, on my way to 40 for 09/08/11. Bicycle 10 miles everyday, 2.5 miles of treadmill at 10% incline, and weights or core exercises. That's awesome pianoman.  I was doing great until I ended up with E-coli a month ago.  I was down for about 3 weeks.  I did start walking with 40 lbs on my back this week but I am very tired.  I am hoping to be back in the gym next week doing 2 adays.

On a side note, I am going to attempt some scouting this weekend.  I hope it doesn't kill me.  At least I would die out in the woods.  LOL

How did the surgery turn out? Everything you expected? I hope so. Maybe one season down for many, many good ones I hope.
