new salmon spinning pole

So the wife decided that is a good idea roll the garage door up on my best fishing pole!    Well I guess I have to find a new one or two , I cant afford a g-lomis or nothing that pricey but I want a good 8-10 ft pole. Let me hear what all of you like and use. Thanks for the

I have used Okuma rods and reals for a few years now, good price and they hold up well.

I have had good luck with Okuma's.  I broke the tip off of a Okuma spinning rod, returned it for a brand new one free of charge.  I still am partial to my G Loomis but they are a hell of a lot more spendy.

May be out of your budget but Im a big St. Croix fan. excelent customer service and their rods are pretty much bomb proof from my experience. They are a bit more expensive but you won't regret it. And if your wife drops the garage door on it again you can just send it back to them and you'll have a new rod in 7 days. Their "Wild River" Line of rods makes for an awesome salmon river rod. ($150)

Have a look at some of the Shimano rods, they tend to have better tips than the Okumas.

I am a very big fan(as in I have 9 of them) of the Berkley AIR IM8, more a fan of the IM7 before them.  Great rod for $80 locally and 65 from a place I found online. PM if you want the info.

The best bang for your buck would be St. Croix Wild River series (around $150). 5 year waranty that is a non-nonsense - I tried it last year on 3 year old rod, they honored it and did that with amazing expedity - 21 days turnaround.
Second thing to check would be Fenwick.

I agree, take a look at Fenwicks. They are no longer leading the field in technology like they were 30 years ago but still offer a great rod for the price.

lamiglas all the way You can find good deal on them and be around 100.00 pretty easy. Also bimart just started stocking another wicked pole the wright and mcgill s curve series. I got the first one ever sold  They are wicked as well. Think they are 100.00

Can't go wrong with St. Croix or Fenwick. My go to rod is a Croix and i love it, next ones gunna be a Loomis though. Just out of curiosity.
