(1) Utah Mule Deer Ranch Hunt
« on: July 30, 2011, 06:04:54 PM »
I have one hunt available Oct 1-4.

We are usually 90% to 100% kill on these guided ranch hunts, last year 100%. The ranch is about 13,000 acres, when I first got the ranch there were 30 tags per year issued, I cut the tags to 20 tags for about 10 years, and the bucks have been a lot better with mostly 3x3 and 4x4 or better bucks taken. During the last few years most of the hunters have shot at 4x4+ bucks. Last year we reduced the ranch to only 10 tags and there were numerous good mature bucks left after we hunted so I am expecting even better hunting this year. This hunt is suitable for anyone young or old. We can hunt hard covering lots of ground with optics and then stalking wherever we need to go, or we can take a guy in a 4x4 truck and shoot a good buck by driving around the ranch roads. We normally see 30 to 75 deer per day on these hunts and prefer to take only 4x4 bucks or better. Utah has had excellent conditions this year so there should be some better than usual horn growth.

Accomodations include simple meals cooked by guides and bedrooms in an older ranch house. Everyone seems to like the place and I have two older guys that book it every year for about 8 to 10 years now. One guy is about 87 and the other about 65, they both say its their favorite place they have ever hunted their whole life. Last year an unguided hunter took what he claims was a 204 buck, but he still hasn't sent us a picture so I don't know if I believe it was that big. I have seen a handful of real big bucks over the years but bucks do not normally get that big on the ranch. My few unguided hunts on this ranch are spoken for, I only have 1 guided hunt for the first hunt of the season available Oct 1-4.

The hunt is $2950, the license and tag will cost $333.

Bucks shown were all killed on this ranch by Bearpaw Outfitters except for the one old cougar kill that the mice chewed up. I wanted to show you that there are a few big old boys on the ranch. That one buck with Nick is bigger than usual too, most bucks are like the others.

In past years we were killing mostly 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year old deer with some older bucks. Since cutting the tags to so few, my goal is to get the average age of the bucks we take to 4 1/2 and 5 1/2.

Still need 1 more hunter.

You need to hire me as your full time photographer. I have my own equipment. That would be better than a cook or wrangler. When do I start ?
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

Camp David, just let me know as far in advance when you are ready to book a trip. I have mule deer hunts available in Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Washington, myself and a small handful of very experienced guides do all the guiding ourselves. We can fit you to the best hunt, but you need to let me know as early as possible so that we can get licenses, some states require certain applications as early as January and other states we can get tags until season opens. I also have some landowner and outfitter quotas for tags too.

CAMPMEAT, just hire me as your full time guide and we'll take pictures of you and all your game...  :chuckle:
We can hunt as many things as you have ammunition for....  :chuckle:  :chuckle: :chuckle:
