Any Matheny Bow Hunters?
« on: August 02, 2011, 10:21:19 PM »
Just curious if anyone on hunt WA sets up an archery camp in the Matheny GMU.  I know there's always a few (lower matheny bridge, and the two DNR pits).  I'll probably be out scouting from now until the opener, with the anticipation I'll be joining a few buddies for a small camp somewhere out there.

If you're interested, shoot me a pm and I'll let you know what my truck looks like.

I go down there from time to time.  Probably should get down there again soon.  Might find a coyote.

Yeah, only yotes there.  No elk, deer, and especially no elk! just a great place to camp away from the crowds during archery season. :chuckle:

Your dead on about the critters....especially the deer---might have seen a partial track once.  There are a few cougars in there that have left bone piles throughout, but have run off most other animals.
So, is 'swampy' a creature like bigfoot?

Figures...Don't you have anything better to do? You spend more time in the woods then a tree. :chuckle:  This weekend is my last busy weekend of the summer...after that I have 2-3 weeks of leave to burn before the end of September.  I'm sure I'll be able to find you.  I'm starting to wonder if you're shacking up with one of those Queets gals...can't think of any other reason why you'd be up there so much.

Queets gals :yike:  But, Swampy's daughter is very accommodating.  Down side is having to wait for her to braid her hair before............. well you know.

There is a new Indian younger has a attitude. Almost went home today.was nervous about leaving my truck at a gate. He shot a huge buck the other day. I guess were not allowed on DNR land any more. There giving us the evil eye. There is a a gate that there are two locks on it. The DNR guy said the other lock is there's. Every one bear hunting has noticed this stuff. Heading over to Clearwater so I don't have to deal with them. Matheney has changed alot. Rick
