bear hunting terrain east of marysville
« on: August 03, 2011, 06:54:58 AM »
I have checked out allot of areas in the granite falls, oso, darrington area and I seem to just find gravel roads with thick timber on both sides and most all the clear cuts are over grown or nothing growing in them.
My question is if you guys are just walking the gated roads or what?

Find a road that is open. Drive to the top. Then start walking.  I saw three yesterday in the spada area. I should have use my long range bow :chuckle:. They would not respond to my calls, so next week Ill try a differant call. Mabey one from R&R. hope it brings them in closer.

Most of all cover lots of ground and have fun.

Head up 530 to Swede Haven. Take a left off 530 and follow that road out as it bends around to the left. Forrest Service road 18 takes off to the right and goes up into Finney Creek. There are tons of areas up there to hunt. If you follow that road long enough you can come back out east of Concrete by my Dad's house, or in Day Creek, east of Sedro-Woolley. I haven't ran up that way in awhile. We should go.

NW-  No worries about gas, thank you though.  My wife has ordered one of the R&R's for me (so she says ). With that said, we can go anytime. it always a learning process, no matter how long one has been hunting. Plus, two people stomping around, increases the odds. let me know when yo have time.
