Hunting season in jepordy
« on: August 08, 2011, 11:28:11 AM »
Well my dad and I drew the Cowiche Modern Rifle Cow tags this year and now I don't know what my life will be like for the rest of this year.  On Friday I went in for an operation.  The "suspicious mass" was removed, and the Dr. tells me that there is an 80% chance that it is cancer.  I am freaking out a bit, but the fact remains that now my scouting time will be drastically reduced.  I don't even know what kind of shape I will be in come hunting season.

Sorry if I sound too much like a whiner.  I am just a bit scared and pissed off at the same time.  This is what I get for putting in for an area that I know very little about  :bash:  I know that my dad wont go without me.  Now instead of me worrying about his health he is worried about mine.
There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.

I've not been in your shoes buddy, but you can't get upset at the things that you can not control.  Reassure your family, and make that hunting season if it's that important to you- psychological therapy will always trump the physical kind...

I know it's got to be hard, but try and stay positive, and take advantage of the time that you do have. Hang in there, we are all pulling for you.

Perfectly stated.

Hang in there man and keep your chin up, and if you are able to - absolutely make that hunt with your dad.  You and your family will be in my prayers

Hang in there, my wife is on year 14 for her cancer as a survivor. Not fun but they are able to do more now than in the past. Our prayers for your speedy recovery.
