My friend got the w3x and has got nothing but whiteouts and really crappy b/w pics.  I bought the x6c and love it.

I've got the W I  iR3D that I got on a special from Midway for $65.  I'm going to check it monday morning after a month-long soak while I was away on a trip.  So far the pics, both day and night (infrared), have been great.  I'll Post some of the results soon as I get out to check what it did in my absence.

Do they take SD cards or do you have to buy a special type of memory card?

Mine came with a 2 GB SD card.  iR 3 D specifies 2 GB Max SD card.  Don't know about the other models.  It looks like the 2 Gb card will be replaced by the 4 GB card pretty soon.  Most ads feature the 4 GB-and -up cards lately, i've noticed.  Some stores don't even stock SD cards smaller than 4 GB now.
