Anybody hunted up high for blacktail during the rut?
« on: August 13, 2011, 08:26:08 AM »
I found a spot last year in the wilderness that had lots of rubs, a few does, and lots of food. For me, the funnest time to hunt blacktails has been the rut. I am headed up to this spot during the last week of October. I want to try to catch a big buck up there. Has anybody hunted the wilderness, or really high elevation during late October? How was your experience?

The September high hunt is cool, but the chance to hunt high mountain bucks during the rut has got me fired up. Anybody done this?

Never done it myself but it does sound like a blast.  Would be really cool if you got a little bit of snow too!

Tried, but snow kept me below 4,500 feet.
