Another rainshadow1 specimen
« on: June 21, 2008, 07:55:08 AM »
Just picked up this knife from rainshadow1 and thought you all would like to see it, It is 7 1/4" over all and the handle is made of local burl maple. Satisfied ?? that would be an understatement !!

Hopefully he remembers us little guys when he becomes absolutely famous for his work.   I am proud to own one of his knives and if I can ever scrape up enough cash, I'd like antoehr one.

I am very impressed with the quality of his work and yes if I could afford another one I would get a caper, I took a look at the one wf70gonehunting has and was very impressed for sure.

Nice work Steve and Thank you very much !!

First, congrats Allen, very nice. I agree with Bone, I own three of Steve's knives now and am looking for more. I also purchased one for AJ's little brother, I hope he keeps it and some day realizes what a prize he has.

Yeah I know Robodad, did he tell me aobut his half dozen kids plus, did he show me those pictures, nope, first things first, he brought out that long handled caper.  I think Bucklucky and Michelle out to be seeking one of them out.  That looked like a taxidermists dream knife, and they could probably tax deduct it.

All I could think about while I was fondeling that knife was that buck I caped out in Wisconsin with a flimzy ass POS paring knife from my mom's kitchen and how much better it would have been with that caping knife OMG it would have been sooooooo much easier and that is a fact !!! that thing just fit in your hand like it was another one of your fingers with a sharp end, it was NICE !!

Thanks for the Steel, Robodad. Glad you like that first planer blade!!! :P Many more to come!

I'll be planning out the set to be auctioned here. Hopefully within 6 weeks.

Beautiful knife and great photos too.

Steve,  if you took those photos I want to make sure you do that for me as well, before I bloody it all up.

proud owner of a couple of steve's pieces also here.
1 knife and a call or 2...
i would like to get a more classic wood handled knife one of these days too. the one  i  got is a little more modern looking with the black mycarta grip, but  i dig it.

Crunchy, that was a "thanks" for about 300lbs of high grade tool steel... a deal for me in my opinion! (We're also going to do a two knife set and sell it for Josh's Folks. Keep an eye out for it!) Send me a PM if you have some ideas, I'll tell you what I can do it for.

TL, Robo took those pics, I had to steal one for my file, actually, as I forgot to take some myself. He did a great job! I'll take pics of yours for sure though, as it'll be a FIRST OF A KIND!!!

jack, my posts for open sale may be a little bit few and far between, as I've got a waiting list stacked up here, but I'll keep that in mind. Both classic, distinct straight grain; and classic, one piece, but with some mind-blowing red morrell burl sapwood I have in the pile! Feel free to PM and join the list!

Thanks again, guys!
