So I had a friend try to pack our gear in yesterday and he got turned around by snow?? Said there was still almost 5' and ice under most of it. Anyone else tried to get up there yet? Guess that blows the wilderness early hunt for us

Your going to find a lot of ice and snow above 5000' in the north sides of the ridges,,,,, With the late summer its probably sticking around tell season openers....

Interesting, which trail? What was the mosquito report? Should I bring the snowshoes?
That's great friend that packs your gear in for you

I remember when the hippies first discovered Indian Heaven. They would show up without any bug spray.
We would spray down their kids and then tell the parents we didnt have enough for them.

It didn't seem like that many years ago you could practically have the place to yourself. Then you would have to get off trail quite a ways to avoid the hikers. Now there is almost no place to escape them. On my trip over the 13th-14th of this month nearly all trailheads were overflowing. Ironically it was like a ghost town outside the wilderness boundary. Go figure.

Went up sun to check out some spots with some buddy's, way too many people and skeeters, the snow. Glad I'm not hunting over there.
