Most likely not. You should call the city of Bellingham or something to find out.

Google works great for stuff like this. If I'm reading it correctly, you cannot hunt with a bow in Bellingham:

Quote
City of Bellingham Municipal Code
 Title 10 CRIMINAL CODE
Chapter 30 WEAPONS CONTROL 10.30.010 - DISCHARGING FIREARMS
A.   It is unlawful to discharge a firearm within the City, except at indoor rifle ranges operated in accordance with the provisions of Section 17.20.070 of this code.

 B.   As used in this chapter, "firearm" means a weapon or device from which a projectile may be fired by an explosive such as gunpowder.

 C.   It is unlawful to shoot, or otherwise cause the discharge of, a projectile from a bow, sling shot, BB gun or other device from which a projectile may be discharged by compressed air or gas, or spring power, unless such projectile is aimed at an inanimate target and does not strike a person, bird, or animal, or land on public or private property other than property whose owner has given express permission for the discharge of the projectile on such property.

 D.   Target, for purposes of this chapter, shall mean a device specially designed for shooting or target practice, and which is of sufficient size and design to stop the movement of projectiles aimed at it.

 E.   Projectile, as used in this chapter, means an arrow, rock, BB or other solid object which is capable of striking and causing injury to a person, bird or animal if discharged from a device described in subsection C.

 F.   Any violation of this section is a misdemeanor.

Nope, Bobcat nailed it.  Section C covers it.

No good, root eatin', tree huggin', bunny lovers whine and complain about the deer eating all their hard work & money from their vegetable gardens and flower beds, yet don't want hunters to take care of the problem.  But they'll keep paying higher insurance and vehicle repairs costs for damage caused by deer.  If it gets too bad their tax dollars will pay for an exterminator.

It's too bad for us, there's some dandy bucks livin' in town.  The joke is Sudden Valley is you "hunt" deer with an apple and a ball pein hammer.  :chuckle:

what if one accidently slips and falls into a pit, that you were digging for a tree, where it might have hurt itself and is in obvious distress...wouldn't it be the humane thing to do to put it down...or at least slip a rope around it's neck to help it out of the hole?

Heres a deer that was in the yard during archery season, it would have been a costly mistake.

I admit given that it would just be a misdemeanor, if I had a bow and proper tag and it was the right season, I would probably shoot it and pay the fine. :twocents:

Pretty much what I was thinking too, I didn't see anything in that code that said anything was wrong with whacking a deer over the head with a pipe.  :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I have have no problem shooting town bucks, (where Legal) But don't call it hunting. It's a meat hunt. I just love it when someone brags about his big buck and then later find out it was shot in town.

Right, I mean a rope around the neck to "help it out" does sound like a good idea and then by accident I slipped and my knife fell out of its sheath and landed in my hand accidently slitting its throat and now I have to keep him since he's suffering from the neck wound and I better just finish him off because that's the humane thing to do. :chuckle:

So, Sudden Valley is where again?  And is there any homes for rent nearby? :chuckle:
