Usually no question is a stupid question.  But this one is pretty close.

Sorry didn't mean to sound like a dick. The whole snow thing threw me for a loop.  Kinda hard to look for sheds when they are covered by snow

Not a dumb question. Normally I have kinda a set "shed season". Even tho im always looking for sheds, i really concentrate my efforts late winter and spring. late spring and summer I wills still go on shed trips but they are into areas I hunt or want to scout, versus earlier when I may be in wintering areas or areas not open to general tags.

I find quite a few throughout the summer working but a lot are chewed on by that time. I go looking on my days off from feb until may pretty regularly.

I am always looking when I enter the woods. I found a 3 point black tail shed today that had not been chewed on at all.

I shed hunt mostly during the late winter/early spring. Never really done much in the summer, I figure it would be tougher with the heat, brush, the fact some have been found etc.. But I did find a spike elk shed about a month ago while on a fishing trip. In fact I may have to try some summer shed hunting... No doubt theres plently still laying out there.
