Pasayten moose and goats
« on: August 23, 2011, 08:40:49 PM »
Here are a few pics from my trip last weekend. The moose walked up to the lake on my left while I was fishing, I grabbed my camera and snapped a shot as she started torwards our camp. After getting pretty close to the horses she turned and ran back into the woods, so I went back to fishing. A few minutes later she came out at the opposite end of the lake walked in and swam the length of the lake to my right, walked out, shook off, and continued on her way past my camp and into the woods. I've seen moose in the pasayten before, but not this high, I was at remmel lake about 7400'. On our ride out we saw a cow and calf a little lower down below the forest service cabin at Spanish camp. The goat pics are from upper cathedral lake. They are pretty young, but always fun to see goats.

Sawbuck,
Cool picks! I tried to find my old pics of a couple bull moose we had in our camp in '98. SW base of Sheep Mountain, called peavey meadows. Remmel isn't too far off.
I remember being so exited to see moose in the meadows I ran right out in the open with my camera to get a Picture, my senses came back to me when I got about 50' from them. They weren't to pleased to have the photo-op I guess  :dunno: I snuck back to the tree line.
I hadn't seen any moose up there in the 10 Yrs. prior or couple Yrs. after '98.
Again great Pic's, and glad to see their still passing through!

Quite a few moose in the Pasayten, but I can't recall seeing any goats on that side.  Very cool.

Nice pics. Love seeing those moose.
