Interesting, blood seems to be running down arm, not consistent with processing an animal. If I was bleeding that much I would be getting the heck outa there, not setting up a cam.
Any possibility he got punctured on accident, and wanted to find out whos cam it was?
Maybe he was going all Rambo and leaving a blood trail as attractant for bears.

Did you check around in the bushes to see I he's dead from bleeding out? Or did you leave him there to bait in the wolfs?

Does your cam actually shoot the "deterrent spikes" in some way?

The inside of his arm doesn't have much of anything on it from what it looks like in the later picture. I am betting my earlier post was close to the mark - blueberry syrup for bringing in bears, but he must have had an accident with it.

Closeup of the bleed....
Maybe he cut himself clearing brush from another cam he set up previously? Maybe he fought off a wolf bare handed just to get to your spot to set a cam?...

I know I've shown up on at least 2 different cams this past year, I keep hoping to show up on here. I was even nice enough to wave each time!

I am sure I showed up on one in the last couple of weeks. Took a cell photo of it and sent it to the land owner and asked if it was his? Told me it wasn't and asked where it was said he is going to go retrieve it for the folks with a note on where to pick it up. I'm guessing that it was removed that evening.

I've stumbled on two this spring and given a friendly wave. What's everyone's opinion on how big a radius to give them before setting up my own cam and/or hunting the area?

depends on the area and how much pressure it typically gets. Around here I try to be miles away from anyone else that I know of, but that probably doesn't happen all the time. During archery season it's difficult to know where folks are and especially me as I hide my camo wheeler so people have no clue I'm there in the area.
